Happy Holidays from the ATL- Madonna, Jewel and Turkey

Matt ran in the Atlanta Marathon on Thanksgiving morning. He did the half (13.1 miles) in 1 hour 35 minutes which is a personal best for him. He seemed to feel really great afterwards. He helped me put the finishing touches on the best holiday dinner I've ever cooked. See, here he is helping....
Thanks to P-Dub for the 'why and how to brine a turkey' post, which I did and cooked my BEST BIRD to date! And I made to MOST amazing Dressing ever - her recipe too...
After a fabulous dinner and quick walk with the boys, we went to the Macy's Tree Lighting Celebration at Lenox Mall and saw....JEWEL!
It was pretty cool, totally free too. [by the way, Jewel is selling her newest CD for ONE DOLLAR over at her site for the month of December to give back and all] It was a whole tv production which I (nor Matt) had ever been too. They told us stuff like 'ok when we're live lots of smiles and noise people!' It kinda sucked that Jewel was singing to a backing track. But she sang a few holiday songs, and I just loved seeing her and hearing her voice. And I love Christmas songs.
To be honest, I loved the whole hoopla of the event. The singing, the stage, the cameras, the TREE.... everyone let white balloons go when the tree was lit and the fireworks started...I teared up a little. I'm such a sucker for holidays. I love the entire season! I had to get myself together so Matt didn't see me all silly over it all. But it was REALLY cool.....I can't wait to see that Big Tree in NYC, I'm totally going to cry over that one! Traditions, that's all I can say, traditions. I love em at the holiday season time!
