Spring has sprung here in Atlanta. It's surreal and really weird for me to have read in the Anchorage Daily News today about the Miners and Trappers Ball, and the Iditarod Update while I have this...
THIS is why I live in Atlanta and really am enjoying it right now. Today's walk gave us 65* with 20mph winds- the day started dark, gloomy, with ridiculously hard rains, then as I drove home from work at 4:30 the sky cleared itself of every cloud and the sun came out. The weather couldn't of been more perfect because I have a new camera to play with (it was a GREAT deal on craigslist)!! I really couldn't pass it up...now I can do things like this...
and this...
And I never notice before, but I think Blue might actually have some gorilla in him- do you see it too? Good lord look at those shoulders!
The quaility is fabulous, 8 megapixels will do that I guess. I loved photography in high school- I took all 4 years with a photography class with Mr. Matz at Dimond High in Anchorage. That was before digital- I had a basic Canon 35mm and loved black and white and the darkroom. For years now I've dreamed of having my own darkroom to recreate that creative zone for myself, but the equipment is hard to find, expensive and since I don't own or have any roots right now- it was completly impractical. A digital SLR camera really was the only option! ;-) I have quite a learning curve to conquer with this camera, but already I'm impressing myself with it.
This is a beautiful time of year! To all those in Alaska- I promise it's right around the corner! I'll let you know when the geese are headed your way!
