It was still 62* when we got home at 8:30pm just after dark. It was really perfect weather, not too hot, not too cold. I did my after walk yoga routine outside on the deck with a sky of bright stars above my head. I had a hard time doing soft eyes where they were supposed to be with the twinkling stars overhead. Tonight I wished for courage to complete this marathon with my nagging pessimism of this old injured foot acting up. Matt as usual is being incredibly encouraging and keeps telling me I'm so ready to do the whole thing. Completing a marathon has been on my life to do list for as long as I can remember, I believe it started the list back in Junior High School XC Running. I've spent a lot of time lately thinking about where I started and who I want(ed) to be. Star gazing and seeing familiar constellations reminds me of my youth in Alaska where the stars are so bright against the dark cold sky that you can see forever. Those years between 12 and 15 or so I might have been on to something when I would daydream about the adult I would become and what lifestyle I would make for myself. For the last ten years I haven't been going towards that dream. I feel as though realignment is in process right now, I'm just going with it and really trusting myself.
On another note- The boys had lots of inquires on 'what is on their backs' with the packs. One lady said, 'oh, that's to carry the poop?'. I never thought of that- I love my neighbors, bless their hearts! They did really good, Blue is carrying two water bottles and Petey has the heavy pinch collars they usually wear. Next week they are both moving up in weight.
I am very frustrated with the new camera. Sometimes the pictures turn out great like this one of Petey and the one of the birds nest. Then other times I can't get an in-focus shot for anything! The camera has a lag time and the autofocus is very slow, so I snap the shutter quick to get something that moves like the bird, or Blue and I get this ghosty like blurriness. This nest has been in this little tree by my mail box since I moved in almost 2 years ago. Last season there were two birds, this season only 1 is back. Does anyone know what kind of bird this is?
