This way, That way, Every which way...

It was a busy weekend!! Friday afternoon I left work early for a special appointment (more on that later- but it was REALLY good news!). My friend Caitlin called me unexpectedly to go get a manicure/pedicure at our favorite place in Inman Park. Super fun, we both REALLY REALLY needed it! Our old neighborhood was totally happening- all along Highland there were new stores opened and a couple new restaurants. Saturday was the Inman Park Festival, so the stretch on Highland was getting ready for thier Grand Openings on Saturday. It got us all excited to do SOMETHING! We made a plan to go home and get dressed up and go out. So we did, we grabbed Matt and put on some heels to show off our cute toes and went to our old favorite hang outs. We had a lot of fun! It's pretty different being the only sober one now that I don't drink. Grown people act a fool with some drinks in them.

Saturday was volunteer day with Dave FM the local radio station that Matt and I listen to. I had signed up for their 'workforce' to volunteer and get a Jack Johnson concert ticket. Matt and I did this for Dave Matthews tickets last year. This time, of 117 people that signed up, they only drew 20 names to come work. Only 8 of us showed up plus 3 more extra wait listers. It ended up being a lot of fun. We worked with Trees Atlanta digging and pulling up invasive English Ivy. It started out pretty easy and then the next thing I knew we were tackling a huge section that was overwhelming. Slowly we started prying it up like sod and rolling it back like carpet. It worked pretty good with a bunch of us.

The Trees Atlanta guy was really impressed and had us leave one roll so he could bring 'professionals' back to show them what we did. He said we were on to something! After 2 hours of working in the woods we were beat! Willy's fed us burritos and we got our tickets to the show. It was a pretty good way to spend a Saturday morning! I was so tired when I got home since we had a late night out on Friday- I took a nap!

Sunday was a big day for me. Awhile ago I thought I'd put a message out into the world that I wanted to be a photographer and see what it sent me back. I got a gig! Emillee's 1st Birthday Party....her mom found my ad on craigslist and had me come out and shoot the party. It was a lot of fun!! I think I may be on to something here...could this be my natural talent??

On another note (sorry about skipping around so much, this is why I should post everyday!) This morning I woke up not thrilled that it was Monday, but eager to get the week started and over so that I can get to my vacation. Walking into the bathroom I realized it was raining, I thought 'oh heck, I'll just drive to work." Then I thought "No, I really would rather ride the bus. How bad could riding my bike in the rain be?" I started to get ready in my usual work clothes that I usually commute in as well. Then I realized I'll probably be a mess and should change when I get to work. GOOD. I. DEA!!! I was drenched when I got on the bus. Rain was pouring off the bill of the ballcap I wore under my raincoat hood. My hood kept coming off no matter how tight I pulled it. My pants were soaked, as was my backpack. It was a good thing I put my dry clothes in a plastic bag inside my pack. Then to top it off the bus was 10 minutes LATE. I stood in the rain for a good 20 minutes after riding in the rain. Let's just say it was a bad hair day at work today! But I'm glad I did it, the ride home was nice- cool, but dry. And Matt said I was 'hard' for riding in the rain.

Congratulation, when we wonder what we are put here for we find it like a tiny piece of gold in a tiny stream, just waiting to be found. you pick up a camery and it feels so natural then you know why. take it and run with it. you never know where it will lead you it can go to many countries there is always something that needs to be perserved in an imag Gramma.
