Home Sick for Snow

November Miles Walked: 18.95

What a sad month for miles walked. Between the schedule change with the light and getting busier at work due to the holidays coming I haven't been racking up the miles on the new walking shoes like I had hoped. The darkness brings the urge to hibernate inside watching tv, eating good food, drinking red wine, with the heat as high as I can stand it to give that comfy, cozy feel to the house. After years of this routine in Alaska my body automatically kicks into this hibernation mode, which explains the illogical expectation of snow too!

So I've been cooking and baking. Nothing beats Matt's reaction to my Banana Creme Pie this weekend- he exclaimed "Holy Sh*&!" as I took it out of the oven. I amazed him again with my Betty Crocker cookbook.
(This picture makes the merigue look like something from a Doctor Suess book! )
Nothing beats baking all day on a Sunday, listening to knba online and just taking my time. KNBA is my link to Anchorage via the Internet. It is the best radio station in the world. I have my Sunday shows that I listen to every week as I hang around the house. The show Island Style is Hawaiian music which has memories of being snowed in Anchorage dreaming of the beaches of the islands. I have so many memories of listening to KNBA back home, listening in Atlanta comforts me and makes me ridiculously homesick at the same time. My heart hurt when Steve Hymall on the Truck Stop played "grandpa" by The Judds and exclaimed "it's really coming down out there, at least 4 inches of fresh snow! Take your time out there today, remember it's Sunday no need to be in a hurry!" At least the colors of fall are really pretty here in Atlanta.
