I am really not sure if it starts on Friday nights or early Saturday mornings. Somehow they know when it's Saturday, and so it begins the moment I open my eyes while lying in bed. Petey instantly senses that I am somewhat alert and he comes to the side of the bed, puts his chin on the bed and stares intently. Usually he is then allowed to lay next to us and snuggle the morning away until Blue realizes whats going on, then he gets in bed with us. When I finally get up they begin the following me around with intent and focused, yet somewhat sad eyes. When I'm in the living room Blue signals by standing directly in front of the door, Petey sits by the door looking certain. They are certain that we're going for a walk, preferrably a long walk, and right. now!
My foot is bothering me again, so the half marathon we were planning today did not happen. But since we recieved Blue's new Palidades Pack II from RuffWear this week it was a great oppertunity to try out the new pack with a Saturday Shopping Walk. I had several small stops to make and so we all three wore our packs and headed out. We went to the local Rock Climbing Club and got some new web rope to make new improved leashes, ours couldn't be rattier right now. That will be a project for the next week or so. They both howled outside tied up as it was a block building and they couldn't see me or where I went, so they made sure I knew right where they were!
Another project of making a cork board out of my old wine corks is coming along nicely, however I ran out of glue. Lowes is in the shopping plaza up the street so I tied them to a tree right in fron of the door and they layed in the pine straw waiting for me, watching. When I came out there were a couple ladies taking thier picture, the boys are like stars now. They both ignored the ladies as I was their only focus!
Petco is right next to Lowes, the tails just go crazy when they walk through the doors! They LOVE to go inside the store, it's a very special occasion for them and SO many smells. We got our fish food and a couple new reflective collars to match the new leashes I'm making. Blue proceeded to completly humilate me by hiking his leg on a dog food display! The store people were super nice about it though, but then they seemed offended when the boys wouldn't take the treats they offered them. For whatever reason neither of them will take treats from strangers.
I also had to get a few groceries and pick up a prescription at the local Kroger, so we headed over there. I am trying to cut back on plastic grocery bag consumption lately, so I am trying to use my own bags. I had more items than would fit in my pack, the checkout girl looked at me like I was crazy when I stacked the remaining items up and headed out. I had help waiting outside, who were getting thier picture taken AGAIN! I'm really glad I gave them baths last night! People just love dogs in packs. Petey was so proud to carry something in his pack too. Lately just Blue had a pack and I think Petey was a little jealous of the attention he was getting. Petey really does have quite the ego for a dog.
That was our little outting today.

Is that a picture of your plant blooming! The U.S weather is weird. I did not know the weather where you are living was that mild? We had 2 inches of snow last night! Hope your foot gets better fast and you can get back in the marathon mode. Peace to you and yours..
